Trophy Time
This last weekend was Madison's last soccer game playing for the Purple Hippo's. She is always so excited to play with all of her friends and was even more thrilled when they got trophies. Great season Madison!!
Birthday Time!
This month brought us a couple of birthdays....mine and Peyton's. I had a great birthday with Jason and the kids spoiling me and a lot of friends making it fun for me. I got to go to lunch a couple of times and my friend Holli even made us an amazing dinner and brought it over. I am super lucky to have such a great family and wonderful friends.
Peyton turned 15!! One more year and she can start dating. Not good. We woke up everyone super early so that she could open presents before school since the day was super busy. (Plus, she wanted to wear her new clothes to school). I picked up Winger's for dinner (then off to Young Women's and softball) and then had her yummy 4 layer Heath bar ice cream cake before bed. Kobe and Madison even sang her a special song that they learned just for her. Too cute. I think she had a great time and knows how much we love her!

Prom Night
Peyton was able to attend Prom this year (not with a date) because she is on Student Council and they had to serve refreshments. So....she got to dress up too!! Her and her friend Macey borrowed a couple dresses from friends and they looked amazing. A little too grown up for me (oh, how time flies), but they looked beautiful and they had a good time manning the chocolate fountain.
Easter
I am a little behind on my blogging, so I will try and catch up much as possible in the near future. So back a few weeks to Easter......
The kids absolutely love Easter and the fact that they get to go to their grandparents and have huge egg hunts with their cousins. They know that they each get a "special egg" from Grandma and Grandpa which makes it even sweeter. It is a fun time to see all of our relatives and we ended up with great weather this year, so we all had a fabulous time.
I love Easter and the time of reflection that we get to remember Christ and his sacrifice for us. As we talk about it with our children, they amaze me with their knowledge of the resurrection and I see the love that they feel towards our Savior. Madison was able to tell us the entire story one Sunday after hearing it from her Primary teachers. How grateful I am for the teachers that each one of my children have. I know it is often a thankless calling. And, I am so grateful for a loving family on both sides. I got extremely lucky when I married into Jason's family!

Spring Sports
It seems like this Spring has been especially wet and cold. However, the kids are still going strong in their individual sports and we usually have at least one game per night during the week. Regardless of how crazy it gets sometimes, there is no where we would rather be than watching them play. Kobe is having a lot of fun in baseball thi season and really enjoys pitching. He has a lot of friends of his team and they all are so good about cheering each other on and so far they have only lost 1 game. Carly hit a homerun in softball and Peyton hit another one over the fence in center field so we are having a little sibling rivalry to see who can hit the most homeruns or who is the better pitcher, etc., etc. between all of them. Madi is their little cheerleader and always loves going to their games.
Carly is also enjoying track and participated in the long jump at her first track meet and did a great job.

Madi's 1st soccer game
I have to say that watching 4 year olds play soccer is the cutest thing ever. It is like a little cluster of cutesness following the ball wherever it goes, whether it is inside the field markers or not. This is Madi's first year at playing a sport and she was so excited to play.
She has a couple friends and her cousin Kenna on the team as well so it makes it lots of fun for her and she looks forward to every Saturday. She had a great time, got right in there trying to kick the ball and even scored a couple of goals. If you notice from the pictures, she even acquired her Dads' and brothers' trait of biting their tongue when they are deep in concentration. Those are some strong genes.
Madi: Is college scary?
No....Well, why do you ask?
Because I don't know how to use a knife.
(At this point, my mind is racing trying to figure this one out! I mean, really, does she mean as a weapon or what??? My mind kind of shuts down at night. And then I got it....) You mean cut with a knife?
Yes, I don't know how to cut my food like fruits and veggies.
Oh, well, we will work on that and you will learn lots more things as you go to kindergarten, grade school, middle school and high school. You will learn a lot of things before you go to college so it won't be scary.
Oh, OK........ (sigh) ....good night.
I got a chuckle from this one. Way to prepare ahead Madi. You never know when cutting your own food will come in handy!!

Carly also had a birthday party with her friends on Saturday that included lots of dancing (Wii's Just Dance 2), pizza, candy, popcorn and a movie. They were such a cute bunch of girls and everyone had a great time. Happy Birthday Carly, we love you!
